Summary: Maintains the high voltage electrical distribution system (with system voltages at 480-34.5KV) to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all facilities and buildings. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains components associated with the system. .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
► Install and maintain the high voltage distribution system
► Perform preventative maintenance on switches, power transformers, metal clad switchgear, protective relay systems, motor control centers, medium voltage control and excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, and rotating equipment.
► Troubleshoot electrical problems to ensure continual operation.
► Ability to perform tests including but not limited to transformer insulation resistance, (transformer turns ration, high-current injection, fuse continuity, etc), protective relay testing, cable testing, etc.
► Clean, inspect and operate the functional components of circuit breakers.
Education and/or Experience
► High school diploma/GED
► Associates degree in an electrical field, Armed Forces training, electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent field experience preferred.
► General understanding of electrical standards and codes
► Knowledge of electrical control systems
► Knowledge of 3 phase power, protection, and control systems.
► Basic PC skills
► Must have valid driver’s license

Work Environment
► Industrial environment.
► Occasionally working outside in all weather conditions from street level to roof tops.
► Occasionally working inside in extreme conditions from basements to rooftops in high places.
► Possibility of temperatures ranging from extreme cold to over 100 degrees.

► Position requires strenuous effort, climbing, stair climbing, and crawling to accomplish equipment isolation and movement of material
► Lifting and carrying of a variety of equipment weighing up to 50 lbs is sometimes necessary
