Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is an active, non-profit business membership organization comprised of business and professionals who are dedicated to fostering a favorable economic climate in which to live and work. Members provide financial, in-kind and volunteer resources to the business community.  The Chamber also serves as an information resource to the community with an Information Center for residents and visitors. The Information Center distributes relocation packages, northern Strafford County street maps, regional and state highway maps, a magazine that promotes Rochester and surrounding communities, COAST public transportation schedules, state attractions and more. The Chamber also provides information promoting the products and services of its member businesses.

Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE)

Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE) is a regional economic development organization supported by a team of private and public sector leaders dedicated to improving economic performance in the Rochester/Finger Lakes, New York Region. The primary goals of GRE are to retain and expand existing business and to professionally market the region as a competitive, vibrant and high-profile place for business location and growth. To support business attraction, expansion, entrepreneurship and innovation, GRE collaborates with local businesses, universities, not-for-profit organizations and government leaders to deliver a unified response to regional economic development opportunities. Empire State Development (ESD)

Empire State Development (ESD) is New York’s chief economic development agency. The mission of Empire State Development is to promote a vigorous and growing economy, encourage the creation of new job and economic opportunities, increase revenues to the State and its municipalities, and achieve stable and diversified local economies. Through the use of loans, grants, tax credits and other forms of financial assistance, Empire State Development strives to enhance private business investment and growth to spur job creation and support prosperous communities across New York State.

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is New York’s chief economic development agency. The mission of NYSERDA is to advance innovative energy solutions in ways that improve New York’s economy and environment.  NYSERDA is primarily funded by State ratepayers through the System Benefits Charge (SBC) on participating utility bills and proceeds from auctions through the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.   NYSERDA works with stakeholders throughout New York including residents, business owners, developers, community leaders, local government officials, university researchers, utility representatives, investors, and entrepreneurs. NYSERDA partners with them to develop, invest, and foster the conditions that:

  • Attract the private sector capital investment needed expand New York’s clean energy economy
  • Overcome barriers to using clean energy at a large-scale in New York
  • Enable New York’s communities and residents to benefit from energy efficiency and renewable energy
